“We wanted to do something harder and a little different than the last EP.”
With the opportunity of the release of their new EP entitled “Super Atomic”, Kickin Valentina’s Guitarist and songwriter Heber Pampillon, was very recently interviewed on Rock Overdose and talked about both the EP itself and the band’s future plans.
Rock Overdose: Hello Heber, how are you? It’s been quite some time since our last interview! How have you been?
Heber Pampillon: Great, staying busy with all the stuff that we have going on.
Rock Overdose: So, last time we’ve spoken was about your very first EP and apparently the time has come for another one, entitled “Super Atomic”. How has the ride been so far Heber?
Heber Pampillon: Yes, It’s been great so far. We had a lot of fun recording this one. We are looking forward to touring this CD.
Rock Overdose: What inspired the album’s title?
Heber Pampillon: There’s a track on the album called Super Atomic, We wanted to do something harder and a little different than the last one. Hopefully we achieved it and everyone likes it.
Rock Overdose: Can you tell us a few words about the tracks that are making the EP Heber? There are 6 of them now there, right?
Heber Pampillon: Yes, On my side, Wrong Way, When you’re gone, Super Atomic Poster Boy, Fist n Twist and Some kind of sex.
Rock Overdose: You guys have so far been releasing EPs only, how come not a full length album yet Heber?
Heber Pampillon: Yes, we have. This will be our second EP but you never know there might be a full length in the future.
Rock Overdose: Are there any plans for any video releases just like last time Heber? And if yes, which tracks are the strongest candidates?
Heber Pampillon: Yes, we just finished filming the video for the single “Wrong Way” it should be out shortly.
Rock Overdose: Generally, if we take into consideration the number of live dates behind you (there are quite a few you’ve done so far) and your studio work so far, how would you say the band has grown over the years Heber?
Heber Pampillon: I think we’ve grown and are still growing. Considering the band hasn’t hit the 2 year mark yet. I’m very excited to see how it keeps progressing.
Rock Overdose: When it comes to the band itself Heber, can you tell us how it feels being one of the few bands out there staying faithful to positive message through their music, unlike the general consensus nowadays?
Heber Pampillon: We haven’t looked ourselves in the way, we just write from the heart and what feels right to us and we don’t apoligize for it. To us Rock n Roll it’s about having fun and I guess that comes out in our music!
Rock Overdose: So, unless I’m mistaken you’re setting of for quite a few live dates, appearing alongside some very well known bands Heber. How does it feel and how long are you looking to extend these live dates? Possibly over summer?
Heber Pampillon: Yes, we do have a lot of dates booked and a lot more coming in support of the new CD, starting on 4/16/15. As of now if the the dates keep coming we’ll extended for us long as we have to.
Rock Overdose: Last question Heber, tell us about your future plans. Shall we be expecting another EP release near the end of ‘15 perhaps?
Heber Pampillon: As of now we don’t have any plans for another release but you never know. Our goal now is to tour this CD and hopefully find our way into Europe and South America. We are just trying to get out there to as many people as we can.
Rock Overdose: Thank you for taking the time to doing this interview Heber! Let’s close it with a message of yours to the band’s fans and our readers in general!
